Our Services

For Non-Members and Members

Both members of the NSCLRA and non-members can access and download Collective Agreements, Industry Improvement Fund Forms and Targeting Forms from this website.

For Members Only

Updates

NSCLRA notifies all members via email or fax of updates to our Collective Agreements. This includes updates to rates, clauses and our Industry Improvement Fund forms. Members are also notified of trade classification meetings and other information of interest to the construction industry.

Bargaining Collective Agreements

NSCLRA provides an avenue and a focus for employer concerns and offers a means whereby employers may participate directly in negotiation of their contracts with unions.

Grievance and Arbitrations

NSCLRA can provide advice and assistance in the interpretation of the Collective Agreement, and can also arrange for representation in the event of a hearing. NSCLRA is uniquely well positioned to gather information regarding practices across the industry and can assist in the gathering of information and evidence. We can arrange interviews with witnesses and can assist in hearings.

Dispute Resolution

NSCLRA can provide professional assistance when required in proceedings before the Nova Scotia Construction Industry Panel or before the Supreme Court whether by way of application or appeal. In appropriate cases, NSCLRA may also arrange for legal services and may assist with the costs of legal proceedings should the issues involved be of sufficient importance to the industry as a whole.

Liaison

NSCLRA can liaise with relevant government departments, such as the Nova Scotia Department of Labour and Workforce Development, and the Department of Supply and Services when labour relations issues and contractor concerns are at stake.

Canada Wide Liaison

Through our participation in the Canadian Construction Association and the National Construction Labour Relations Alliance, NSCLRA is in liaison with construction labour relations organizations from coast to coast in Canada and can keep employers abreast of developments in other parts of the country.
